What is our next step? The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. The journey can be fraught with twists and turns, blind alleys, dark corners, dead ends, and times where we feel like giving up. Following an unknown path, leading to an unknown God, is not the way of Love. True Love shows us the end before the beginning, so that when we meet with times of pain, sorrow, loss, or darkness, we can walk by faith instead of sight!
The journey to the new heavens on earth is not for the faint of heart. No one said the journey would be easy, but our Guide said he would never leave us or forsake us. If God promised he would never leave us, then the second coming of Christ must be an internal coming; a spiritual marriage of our soul with his Spirit resulting in perfect oneness with God. What this looks like in the external world and the timing is only known by our Father.
“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” Luke 17:21
I do not claim to have all the answers; no one human being could have the whole truth about an infinite God. There are so many beliefs about who God is, who Jesus is, and what true religion is. I am so tired of all the wrangling over theology, God and religion. I asked for the next step and this is what was revealed to me: Solomon was considered the wisest man yet he is nothing compared to Wisdom, the Holy Spirit, the inner Guide, Teacher and Helper. This inner feminine Spirit of Wisdom was in Jesus and is in his Father and can be in us! Solomon was the wisest of the sons of men; we are all called to become sons of God! This is only possible when the Spirit of God comes upon us, flows freely in us and forms Christ in us permanently! Jesus was the first; we are to be the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, etc.
The next step for humanity is to realize we are to transform from sons of men to sons of God! The only way to transform the outside is to allow the Holy Spirit to transform the inside. The wisest man was Solomon until Jesus was born. Jesus had a human mother so we could all have God as our Father! Jesus did not come to earth to start a new religion; Jesus came to set us free and make us like him! How do we become like Jesus? We die to our separate self, resurrect into the likeness to Christ, and ascend with Jesus to live reflecting the image of God on earth. How do we do this? Only the Holy Spirit can form Christ in us; only we can say yes! Only we can go through the birthing pangs…
“I will be in travail until Christ is formed in you” Galatians 4:19
There are many spirits who are trying to lead us astray; many fallen angels cast out of the Light of God forever wanting to take as many human beings down with them as possible. Our next step is to realize that evil, the devil and his cohort are real, not fantasy or fiction or mythological, so we can be wise to the tricks, guile, tactics and wiles of the enemy. The enemy is not human beings; the enemy is the spirits inhabiting human beings that are not of God. Knowing this, we give the shadows, smoke and mirrors to God, and accept the one Lord and Savior who has overcome it all and has both the power and authority to bring us to the NHOEN and perfect oneness with God! The formula is simple and powerful: we give everything we have done to God, Jesus gives us everything that he did and we become one with God once again! Everything in humanity from Adam to the ascension of Jesus is wiped away; everything from the descending of the Spirit of God and his Christ into human beings is given to us when we receive the Holy Spirit! We are translated from the dominion of darkness to the kingdom of Christ on earth!
We know the end from the beginning: in the end we are in the new heavens on earth with God, our new beginning as new creations. The Song of Solomon describes our next step: our soul unites with God’s Spirit in spiritual marriage! Our soul finds its Beloved and we become one new creation! Sons of men first seek love, marriage and worldly success which often leads to disillusionment, separation, divorce, and striving after wind. Sons of God seek first the kingdom of God and find lasting success and fulfillment when their soul reunites with Jesus. The next step for humanity is to realize that the first step is to seek and find the Beloved as a firm foundation before sex, love, dating, marriage, children and career. All things built upon the firm foundation of Christ Jesus will last forever and provide infinite blessings for the generations to come.
The next step, no matter whether you are just starting out or you have made a complete mess of everything, is allowing your soul to find its Beloved: “you whom my soul loves” S of S 1:7. There is so much seeking, searching, yearning and longing for happiness, satisfaction and fulfillment; there is so little finding! The darkness, the great nothing, the deep hidden, or not so hidden, sadness; the wars, divorce, abortion, child abuse, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, terrorism and violence all point to sons of men who have lost their way. The soul is forgotten; the One our soul loves is ignored, denied, or rejected. The next step is to realize that we have a soul and it is longing for its beloved!
Jesus is the one our soul loves! Until we find Christ Jesus, our soul yearns, longs and searches. We think we find it when we find human love, marriage or children, but many become disillusioned when they separate, divorce, suffer loss, lose desire, find that human love does not last, find casual sex meaningless, or discover worldly success does not lead to lasting happiness and complete fulfillment. Get Jesus first! Find the Beloved of your soul first and save yourself the pain of building a house of cards on shifting sands.
When our soul is reunited with God, “the banner over me is Love” (S of S 2:4). The banner over the world is suffering, pain, war, and conflict. “terrible as an army with banners” (6:4). “Experts at war, each with his sword at his thigh” (3:8). Until we have Jesus’ name inscribed on our thigh instead of a sword at our thigh, we will be in conflict. Until the banner of Love is raised over us instead of a banner of war, our world will be in conflict. Instead of a sword on Jesus’ thigh, he has perfect oneness with God, Love. Jesus’ sword is the Spirit and it is at his mouth, the Word of God, the power and authority to speak and it is done without a physical sword.
Our true house is God’s beautiful nature. “Our couch is green; the beams of our house are cedar, our rafters are pine” S of S 1:17. God made nature, not man. The beauty of nature is our true house; our body is the true home for God!
“My beloved is mine and I am his” S of S 2:16
“I found him whom my soul loves…bring him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me” (S of S 3:4). The soul is feminine and we need to bring Jesus into our womb and let the Christ be birthed in us. We are in travail until we can birth the new creation through us! The mother crowns the king: the feminine, the Holy Spirit crowns us, forms the King of kings in us (3:11). (Transcribed by Syriac Professor R.L. Bensly of Cambridge University in 1892, the words of Jesus in John 14:26 identify the Holy Spirit as feminine or She:”But She, the Spirit, the Paraclete whom He will send to you- my Father – in my name, She will teach you everything; She will remind you of that which I have told you.”)
“My sister, my bride, a garden locked, a fountain sealed” (S of S 4:12). A locked garden and a sealed fountain describe our human condition before our soul unites with Jesus; after our spiritual marriage we become a fountain of the water of life. Our body becomes a garden fountain, a well of living water that flows out of our heart, a flowing stream (4:15). “Let my beloved come to his garden, and eat its choicest fruits” (4:16). Jesus comes to into our body, eats with us, and raises us up to rule and reign with him (Rev 3:20-21). “My beloved is knocking” (S of S 5:2 and Rev 3:20).
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to her and eat with her, and she with me. She who conquers, I will grant her to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne” Rev 3:20-21
“I opened to my beloved but my beloved had turned and gone…the watchmen beat me, they wounded me” (5:6-7). This is the most misunderstood part of our journey to union with God. We seek and find God but find this is only the beginning of the real journey! We find God and then he seems to disappear. We experience the dark nights of the soul and senses. We get beat up; we feel hurts, pain, and wounds, both old childhood wounds and new reenactments. We also get wounded by religion, false spirituality, false shepherds, false prophets, and fallen angels disguised as light. We turn to the left and right for help; we forget to center in Christ. We forget to walk by faith, not by sight. We fall asleep; we forget. We get distracted and waylaid. We forget to fill our body with new oil; we let our light go out. We get tired; we allow the world and all the bad news to get us down. People hurt us both inadvertently or not. The spiritual journey has times of pain, traumas, hurting, forgetting and times when God seems entirely absent. These tests of our faith make us stronger and God more and more real, as we prove God to ourself by standing on the Truth. The pressure turns coal into diamonds, caterpillars into butterflies, grapes into wine; the heat turns impurities into pure gold; the shaking into what cannot be shaken.
“This is my beloved and this is my friend” (S of S 5:16). “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” (6:3). Our soul, our perfect soul is only one, flawless, when united with the Beloved! (6:9). Before our spiritual marriage with God, we are like 60 queens, 80 concubines and innumerable maidens (6:8): our psyche is full of subpersonalities, splits, unconscious aspects, conflicts and fragmentation; “terrible as an army with banners” (6:4, 8, 10); “a dance before two armies” (6:13). Before our soul unites with the Beloved we are like two armies in a dance, we are torn, in conflict, divided and subject to duality. Before our transformation by the Holy Spirit as she forms Christ in us, we are like two armies in a dance. We are divided and feel incomplete; have conflict and do not know how to completely resolve it.
“I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me” 7:10
“O that you were like a brother to me” 8:1. The beloved is Jesus, our brother; the journey is our soul’s search, finding, losing and final union with the Beloved. The key is remembering to keep bringing the Light into any darkness, loss, or pain. Jesus is the Light of the world that becomes our light! Our goal is to consciously be aware of Jesus’ left hand under our head; his right hand embracing us (2:6 and 8:3) at all times. The Holy Spirit can form Christ in us, unite our soul with God, and entwine our body with Christ’s tree of Life in the garden of the new heavens on earth!
“Do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases” (S of S 2:7 and 8:4). Before you do anything get Wisdom! Before you fall in love, get married or have children, seek, find, lose, and reunite your soul with the Beloved. If you don’t know the Beloved, how can you be a beloved to someone else? Don’t stir up sexual feelings until your soul is whole and complete in God or it leads to much pain and heartache. Don’t seek an external beloved until you are whole, free and one with God within your soul! Do not follow the wisdom of the world until you have Wisdom in your soul!
The soul finds peace when Jesus brings peace into our soul! Be awakened by the Holy Spirit! Be pregnant with Christ, in travail until our soul unites in oneness with God (8:5). “My very own vineyard is for myself” (8:12). My soul plus Jesus is one with God. When our soul reunites with God, we have our own vineyard in the NHOEN. When the Holy Spirit forms Christ in us, we become the light of the world, the glory of God, or lamps to shine God’s Presence into the world. The center of our lamp stand, our body, is the shining, fiery, Revelation 1:12-16 One, the living One, alive for evermore; the Christ of our being!
“Make haste, my beloved”( S of S 8:14), you are our next step!
