What happens between the choice to follow Jesus and being led by the Holy Spirit as a son of God?
Don’t get stuck in no man’s land, in the empty skull of Golgotha, outside the camp of Christ where the “dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and every one who loves and practices falsehood” live, move and have their being in the beast under the false prophet. Don’t give your mind and power over to the dark side (Revelation 17 -18, 22:15).
“Know what hour it is, how it is full time now for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed; the night is far gone, the DAY is at hand…put on the armor of LIGHT…put on the Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 13:10b-14
“For once you were in darkness, but now you are light of the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true)…take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is a shame to even speak of the things they do in secret; but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible…’Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light’…be filled with the Spirit…always and for everything giving thanks to God the Father” Ephesians 5:8-14
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to FALL BACK into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship” Romans 8:14-15
“Therefore leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and GO ON to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, with instructions about ablutions, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits. For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy” Hebrews 6:1-6
Our Father permits us to move to maturity as sons of God when he knows we won’t commit apostasy and be lost forever. Only the Father knows when we are ripe and ready.
“And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but WAIT until you are clothed with power from on high” Luke 24:49
Christ is both the feminine Wisdom and masculine Power of God; the Spirit and the Bride; riches of Word and Spirit.
“Now that FAITH has come…in Christ you are all sons of God, through FAITH. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ (Holy Spirit and fire baptism of Jesus) have PUT ON CHRIST…neither jew nor gentile…male nor female; for you are all ONE in Christ Jesus…heirs according to the promise…children are slaves to the elemental spirits of the universe. But when the time FULLY CAME God [sent the “seed of the woman” to crush the head of the serpent], redeem us to receive adoption as SONS of God. And because you are SONS, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your heart…his heir” Galatians 3:25-4:7
God’s heirs receive ALL of the Son of Righteousness; delivered from the dominion of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of the beloved Son: a new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells and nothing unclean can enter your spirit and soul and body. Your spiritual senses are sensitized by Holy Spirit to recognize when something is trying to come upon you, hoping for entry into your spirit or soul or body to feed off of your spirit, wounding your soul, and harming your body. When you KNOW the Truth, the Truth sets you free to use the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to cut them off before they gain entry.
If you continue to believe the lies and half-truths of the evil one and the entities sent from him, you are vulnerable; tempted to thoughts, emotions and actions that open the door to what you do not want to entertain. Jesus was tempted in every way but did not fall for it; did not sin or fall short of the glory he gives us in Christ and Christ in us. When we see his glory, we are changed into his likeness from glory to glory (2 Cor 3:18). Glory to God our Father. Amen.
