Jesus was given all power and authority in heaven and on earth when he died, was buried, resurrected, ascended, glorified, and sits with his Father on his throne. He is King of kings and Lord of lords, Faithful and True, The Word of God made flesh, and Immanuel, God with us.
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who calls us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises that through these you may escape from the corruption that is in the world and become partakers of the divine nature” 2 Peter 1:3-4
“Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father of lights” James 1:16-17
“For the kingdom does not consist of talk but but in power” 1 Cor 4:20
“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken and let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire” Hebrews 12:28-29
“My speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” 1 Cor 2:4
“And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high” ~Jesus the Christ
John baptized with water; but Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and with fire (Luke 3:16). To be who God calls and creates us to be, we need the Holy Spirit and fire baptism to be clothed with power from on high, to be conformed to Christ as a first-born, no longer conformed to the world. We are transformed as we put on the Mind of Christ that renews continually in the Spirit; ask and receive the Love of Christ poured into our heart by the Holy Spirit to be filled with all the fullness of God; and join our will to the Will of God our Father as he works in us greater than we could ever ask or think (Romans 8:29; Romans 12:2; Romans 5:5; Ephesians 3:16-21).
