We can’t have the spiritual gifts without receiving the Gift of the Holy Spirit poured out on us (Acts 10:44-45). We receive the Word, the life and Spirit of God; the Holy Spirit breathes the life of Christ in us; and Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and with the holy fire to dissolve the old and form the new.
“If any one is in Christ, they are a new creature, of the new creation, of the new covenant, with the new name, and the former things are gone, behold, the new has come” 2 Cor 5:17
Jesus said, “It is finished” on the Cross
he gave up his spirit
he was buried
resurrected by the Holy Spirit
ascended to the Father
was glorified: exalted and given the Name above every name that can be named; given all power and authority in heaven and on earth
and sends the Word and Spirit to those who believe in Jesus; Holy Spirit and fire to those who believe Jesus
so we can do the works he did and even greater works since he went back to be one with our Father.
God clothes us with power, light, and Spirit; gives us Christ’s kingdom, power and glory to live in us as we abide in Christ; God makes Christ the source of our life; makes Christ our wisdom and our righteousness, sanctification and redemption (1 Cor 1:30).
Elijah has come, turning the children to the Father and the Father to the children. “Elijah does come first to restore all things…I tell you, that Elijah has come” Jesus in Mark 9:12-13. “Elijah does come, and he is to restore all things, BUT I TELL YOU that Elijah has ALREADY COME, and they did not know him…Then the disciples knew Jesus was speaking of John the Baptist” (Matthew 17:8-13).
Jesus baptizes us with Holy Spirit and fire and gives us his Holy One anointing to teach us everything that is true, and no lie, and to abide in Him (1 John 2:20, 26-27).
The Spiritual Gifts are: words of wisdom, words of knowledge, faith, prophesy, healing, working of miracles, discernment of spirits, tongues and interpretation of tongues (1 Cor 12:4-31). How can we worship in Spirit and in Truth without the Holy Spirit and fire baptism? (1 Cor 14:26-32, 37-40), the promise of the Father, sending the Spirit who is now the Lord, to be with and in us forever (John 14:10-28; 2 Cor 3:3-18).
The Fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, joy, goodness, gentleness, kindness, patience, faithfulness, and self-control. There is no Spiritual Fruit without the Spirit in you!
“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead and Christ will give you Light”
The Fruit of Light is all that is good and true and righteous.
Abiding in Christ and Christ in you, allows you to walk in Light and in Spirit, fruiting the Spirit, doing the works and will of God our Father; the Spirit interceding in you unceasingly; the High Priest in the order of Melchizedek praying for you continuously; so you can pray unceasingly: continuous communion with Christ in you, in Christ.
“You are not in the flesh [can’t inherit the kingdom of God], you are in the Spirit, IF IN FACT the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him” Romans 8:9
“Now when the apostles heard Samaria had received the Word of God, Peter and John were sent to pray for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, because they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” Acts 8:14-17
“I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how I am constrained until it is accomplished! Do you think I came to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division” Jesus told us before the finished work of the Cross that the Cross would divide the sheep from the goats; come to Christ or reject Christ: infected with the anti-Christ spirit
“I have said this to you, that IN ME you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have OVERCOME THE WORLD” Jesus the Christ of God
“It is finished!” Jesus on the Cross
“Behold, I make all things new!” ascended, glorified Jesus
“Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the Word of Truth that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures” James 1:17-18
“For those whom he foreknew, he predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born of many. And those he predestined, he calls, justifies and glorifies. If God is for us, who can be against us…He gives us all things with Christ” Romans 8:29-39
It is God’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom (Luke 12:32). He clothes us with power (Luke 24:49). He gives us his glory so we can become perfectly one with God our Father and Christ (John 17:20-23). God gives us his Spirit, who gives us Spiritual Gifts; and working in us greater than we could ask or think, we give God our Father all the glory!
