I have proof that God exists. I have had little sleep for a year and a half and God has sustained me. We were asked in Grief Share on Sunday if we have seen changes since starting a month ago; I was called on first and I honestly didn’t have an answer, for it seems like the complexity of the circumstances around my husband’s plane crash and the continuing, complicated situation, overwhelms all efforts to heal or come through the layers and levels of impossible burdens to bear.
Yet here I am, breathing, and thankfully able to eat of God’s Word and drink from His Help and Comfort every morning. I have attempted to begin to live again, but just fits and false starts that fizzle, yet God remains everything to me and He never changes, never fails or dies or sleeps, and has promised to never leave me nor forsake me. I cling to His Promises, especially that Jesus will be with me always, even to the end of the ages.
Truly, truly in God there is nothing wrong, missing, lacking, broken, or impossible; but in this world there is great tribulation, trials, floods, fire, disasters, crisis, chaos, confusion, challenges, problems, betrayals, despair, doubt, discouragement, dismay, distractions, fear, anxiety, worry, stress, depression, difficulty, sorrow…
When I am immersed in the Word and devotions, there is nothing else; nothing but God and his glory. When I go through the day I am in various states of human emotions, thoughts and physical sensations, but constant through it all is the Rock I have made my foundation; the Cornerstone that keeps me upright and being built up in His image and likeness; the Head of my body and soul and spirit who I have given all Authority and Power over my life. I give God our Father all control and I ask for Wisdom and to be led by the Holy Spirit alone.
Being alone with God is to be never alone but all one with God, and I give thanks for remembering to remember the Way, the Truth, and the Life yoked to the Bridegroom King in the Father’s House, knowing the Truth, awake and aware, alert to His Promises, receptive to His Presence, Power, Possibilities, and Provision even in the darkest moments.
“For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). Remember Whose you are, and who you are in Christ and Christ in you. Our identity does not come from this world; our true identity comes from God our Father, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Inner peace is impossible without receiving from Jesus (Oswald Chambers). We can take refuge and rest in Jesus’ Alive Peace and Resurrection Life. Are you barren in the desert wilderness or drinking from Jesus’ Well of peace, comfort, help and pure love?
“Look up and receive the undisturbedness of the Lord Jesus. Reflected peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind to Him. If you are not right with God, you can never turn your mind anywhere but on yourself. If you allow anything to hide the face of Jesus Christ from you, you are either disturbed or you have a false security. Are you looking unto Jesus now, in the immediate matter that is pressing, and receiving from Him peace? If so, He will be a gracious benediction of peace in and through you. But if you try to worry it out, you obliterate Him…We get disturbed because we have not been considering Him. When we confer with Jesus Christ, the perplexity goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him. Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of difficulty, bereavement, and sorrow, hear Him say, ‘Let not your heart be troubled.” Oswald Chambers
HEAR, “Do not let your heart be troubled” and DO not let your heart be troubled. Give your heart to Christ, and receive Christ’s Heart of God in you. “Abide in Christ and Christ in you” John 15:4.
Christ is both the Power and the Wisdom of God (1 Cor 1:24).
“Let your heart hold fast My Words…Do not forget, do not turn away from the Words of My mouth. Get Wisdom; get insight…She will keep you; love her, and she will guard you…Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a fair garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown…Keep hold of instruction, do not let go, guard Wisdom, for she is your life…My child, be attentive to My Words; incline your ear to My Sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all your flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flows the springs of life…Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or the left; turn your foot from evil [and those who have done evil against you]” Proverbs 4:4-27
The Power of God is in Christ; the Wisdom of God is Christ in you.
